FAQ’s

Q: Will I get skilled painters?

A: Yes! We have been in business for over 25 years. Our painters have all been trained by the owner himself on interior and exterior professional painting, kitchen cabinet painting and refinishing, deck staining and sealing, wallpaper removal and stripping, drywall repair and re-texture, pressure washing, and log home staining and sealing maintenance. A foreman painter will be on each job site from start to finish.

Q: Can I feel safe with your Painters at my home or business?

A: Yes! We use a careful screening process which entails 2 interviews, checking all references and prior places of employment, performing a nationwide criminal background check through ADP.com, and a drug screening checks at Medstat for all of our painters. Surveys and testimonials are collected from each client after the painting job ensuring ongoing customer satisfaction. In addition, many of our painters have attended safety classes provided to us through our trade association, Painting Contractors of America, and our local safety consultant, The Safety Training Solutions.

Q: When I call, will I have to speak to an answering machine?

A: Sometimes.  If we have stepped away from our phone, you can expect a return call within 24 hours unless it is over a weekend.  Our office is staffed Monday- Friday most weeks from 9-3 to return your calls and schedule your painting estimates.  You may also schedule your estimate here.

Q: Are you a legitimate painting company who is insured?

A: Yes! Matthews’ Painting has 130 plus positive reviews on Google and many positive reviews on Facebook. We are members of our trade association, Painting Contractors of America. We use our own employees for Painters, not sub-contractors, who are covered by a 2 million dollar general liability insurance policy and workmen’s compensation insurance. We are also an Indiana registered painting firm that has been in business for 25 years!  To see what our customers are saying directly, take a look at some of our video testimonials.

Q: If there is a problem, can I speak with the owner?

A: Jason Matthews is eager to make sure customers are happy and gladly share his cell phone number with his clients. In addition, a note can be left each evening at the end of the day so you know what was completed and what time you can expect us back the next day. This note also has a section for you to mention any concerns or questions so our Crew Leader and Painters can address those the following working day.  If you prefer,  our Crew Leader can send you a text instead with progress reports and pictures as often as you would like if you live out of town.

Q: My last painter would work for a few days, and then was gone for a couple days. Always starting and stopping. Will you stay on the job once you begin?

A: Yes! Once the painting begins, we’ll stay with the project and work until your painting is completed, weather and sickness permitting. We try to keep the same crew leader painter will work on your job from start to finish. In addition, we can give you an approximate completion date prior to starting your interior or exterior painting, staining, wallpaper removal, drywall repair or pressure washing project.

Q: I’ve had bids before, and I get some prices that are all over the board. Why?

A: The cost of a job is usually determined by the level of thoroughness, attention to detail, and quality desired. For example, it costs more to employ expert craftspeople who properly prepare a surface for painting and protect surrounding non-paint areas than to give things a “quick once over” by an inexperienced painter. We decided years ago to charge a little more rather than deal with all the headaches that cutting corners costs. We’ve now completed over 1000 homes and businesses in the area with our repeat and referral clients averaging over 75% of our business. In other words, our past clients hire us back, over and over again!

Q: What if I need help with paint colors?

A: Jason Matthews, the owner of Matthews’ Painting, can provide you with a free color consultation when he is out to quote your project.  He can also come back out to your house or business after picking your color if you are not feeling extremely confident about your decision.
