Creating the Best Home Office
May 28, 2015Retreat from the Heat
June 4, 2015Long holiday weekends are always a nice chance to finally balance productivity with household projects and justified relaxation. While frequent rainfall has required more diligent lawn care, it’s been easy for various chores to fall by the wayside; so no one should feel guilty for stepping away from the to-do list to enjoy family gatherings. But with a bit of coordination and planning, there are a few home care jobs that can be completed quickly when you know the right people for the job.
Deck Care
Daydreaming of BBQ? Perfectly normal. But before inviting the family over to watch the grill master take care of business, we advise taking note of the condition of the deck. While the rainfall may have made the surface appear to be clean, there still may be mold, mildew or even trapped grease that’s slowly breaking down the deck. Clearing off potted plants, furniture and the grill is ideal to uncover any potential threats and prepare the space for a proper cleaning. Doing so will not only add to the lifespan of the wood, but will make the deck look stunning for any house guests. Keep in mind that every two or three years, it’s a good idea to give the deck a new staining or sealing. While it may seem like an arduous task, this act can single-handedly add years to the wood, preventing degradation, splitting and rot.
Driveways and Sidewalks
Most customers are genuinely surprised when they see the impact that a pressure washing can have on driveways and sidewalks. Having a well manicured lawn and a freshly painted house are points of pride for homeowners, but adding this simple detail in their maintenance routine adds a pristine quality to a property that makes a house stand out among the rest. Aside from being one of the most easy chores to overlook, pressure washing areas will prevent against fluid and other permanent stains that can detract from even the most lovely homes.
