Make Room(s) for Hobbies
December 23, 2014The Business Color Wheel
January 8, 2015It’s that time of year again. The holidays are over and many people find themselves getting tired of the cold weather, early darkness and general absence of sunlight. One of the best remedies for (what is commonly referred to as) the winter blues, is a splash of vibrant colors. But because many people fear the risk of an overwhelming interior color, accent walls are one of the best choices to brighten up any room.
Unprecedented Color
Designating single walls has its advantages. Homeowners save time, paint and money. However, perhaps the single biggest advantage is the opportunity to break the monotony that many monochromatic interior color schemes inherently bring. People can tap into their creative potential by exploring paint colors that would otherwise have seemed to result in an overwhelmingly visual environment. Fun neon colors that are attractive to kids and teens can be added and easily painted over without having to move much furniture or invest a lot of money.
Ebb and Flow
Accent walls can be used as a tool to create flow from room to room. Remember that awesome bright orange chair in the family room? Take a picture of it and go compare swatches to match the hue. Then paint a wall in an adjoining room to give the space a sense of connectivity. Adding and subtracting design pieces that match the accent walls makes the home seem significantly more versatile.
