Over the years, many commercial business owners have sought us out to help them improve or update their interior. Not only does a fresh paint job boost the look of a business, it also has the power to enhance the customer experience by sending certain subtle cues that align with their expectations (whether customers/patrons realize it or not). We’ve found that certain businesses and services can benefit from specific paint colors. Here are a few of our favorites.
Grocery Stores
Different shades of green are particularly suitable for grocery stores for a couple of reasons. Shoppers will no doubt be reminded of leafy vegetables and will perhaps be encouraged to purchase more of these products. Also, green has been known to encourage creativity. This can be great for business, as people may become inspired to create dishes while shopping, seeking more ingredients in the process. Local produce markets, health food shops and any other “nutrition driven” businesses may find the use of green interior paint particularly advantageous.
Restaurants
Red is the magic color for many restaurant owners. Bright red has been known to encourage impulse decisions. Just think about how many fast food chains incorporate the hue in to their logo somehow. Darker reds are more intimate, associated with stimulating conversations, which can be good for sit-down restaurants because people will want to stay longer. All types of red are believed to have the ability to stimulate appetite.
Hospitals
When most people think of hospital rooms, they immediately think about them being “clean” or “sterile.” White is generally the most popular choice to achieve this desired effect. Because white paint can also expose more dirt and stains, it helps call attention to areas that may have otherwise been overlooked throughout cleaning.
