Business owners small and large recognize that there isn’t much time to interrupt daily operations. And for many, there’s nothing that seems more intimidating than when the interior needs to be revamped. Unfortunately, the apprehension that surrounds this process is what makes it so easy for many owners to put off a quality, professional paint job. I’ve spent a lot of time writing about the benefits of a new look, but I wanted to offer some tips regarding the process of obtaining a quote and getting the job done painlessly.
Getting a Quote
As a business owner, we understand the importance of keeping operational and maintenance costs as low as possible. However, we also recognize that people generally get what they pay for. In the past we have encountered owners who obtain quotes from a number of painting services, electing to choose a company based on the lowest price. While this can seem like a logical strategy, it can backfire. There are countless reasons why companies can offer the “lowest price” (including lower grade paint or limited experience) but if the paint job is sub-par, then it will have to be redone and will ultimately be more costly in the long run. Get to know the reputation of any commercial painting company and make choices based on past work, testimonials and intuition.
Finding the Time
Different businesses require different accommodations for getting the job done…but there’s always a time. One of the most common concerns is that owners are worried about having to “stop shop” until the process is over with. Nobody knows the business like the owner(s). It’s important to note times when there is typically lower customer flow. For example, restaurants may be slower during earlier hours, when painting could be done at that timeframe over a few days. Ensure that the selected painting company is willing to be flexible and remain professional and courteous while customers filter in and out as usual.
Think of the Payoff
Revitalized interiors benefit everyone by giving new life to an establishment. It’s easy to put these types of chores off, but recognize that there are professional painting companies that specialize in working with commercial businesses. They are waiting and willing to make the process as easy as possible.
